Sleepy Hero ("we", "our", or "the app") is a personalized AI bedtime story app for parents and their children. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

When you use Sleepy Hero, we collect the following information:

• Apple Account Info — Your name and email address provided through Sign in with Apple. Apple may provide a private relay email if you choose to hide your address.
• Child Profiles — Names, dates of birth, gender, interests ("obsessions"), and optional photos that you provide for your children.
• AI-Generated Content — Stories and illustrations created by the app based on the information you provide.
• Usage Data — Story generation counts used to manage free and subscription tiers.
• Subscription Data — Managed by Apple and RevenueCat to process in-app purchases. We do not store payment details.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To generate personalized bedtime stories and illustrations for your children.
• To save your stories and child profiles so you can access them across sessions.
• To manage your subscription and enforce usage limits.
• To display published stories on the community Discover feed, if you choose to share them.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in Supabase, a cloud database platform with encryption at rest and in transit. Row Level Security (RLS) policies ensure that only you can access your own data. Photos and character data are stored securely and are not accessible to other users.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Data is shared only with:

• AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic) — Child names and interests are sent to generate stories and images. These providers process data per their own privacy policies and do not retain it for training.
• RevenueCat — Your anonymous user ID is shared to manage subscription entitlements.
• Apple — For Sign in with Apple authentication and in-app purchases.

5. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Sleepy Hero is designed for use by parents and guardians, not directly by children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. All child profile data is provided by and controlled by the parent or guardian who owns the account.

Parents have full control over their children's data and can edit or delete child profiles at any time from the Profile tab.

6. Your Rights & Data Deletion

You can delete your entire account and all associated data (children, stories, published stories) at any time from the Profile tab using the "Delete Account" option. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.

You can also delete individual child profiles or stories from within the app.

7. Published Stories

If you choose to share a story on the Discover feed, it becomes visible to other users. Published stories display the story content and illustrations but do not reveal your personal identity or your child's full profile. You can delete published stories by deleting the original story from your Library.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
